Gena Sanja HandÃ…¾ar has been employed in the Centre for Educational Initiatives as a coordinator of education programs and trainer since 1998. In her years-long career she organized and conducted numerous trainings and worked on the development of training modules in different segments of child-oriented methodology, education for social justice as well as the Child-Friendly Schools concept. She co-authored several manuals for teachers, including Stories about Child-Friendly Schools, published by UNICEF; Toward Inclusion --Creating Inclusive Culture and Practice in Schools; The School that Educates, and a series of articles in national and international magazines. For more than 10 years Ms. HandÃ…¾ar has been involved in different ISSA projects in the countries of Southeast Europe and Central Asia as a certified trainer and module co-author. She is one of the authors of the latest ISSA publication, Principles of Quality Pedagogy -- Competent Educators of the 21st Century. She ! participated in the years-long process of drafting of these quality practice standards as a mentor, evaluator and certifier. Regina Sabaliauskiene is Director of the Centre for Innovative Education in Lithuania, an NGO dedicated to improving quality and accessibility of early care and education programs for children from birth through age 11.
