Perhaps his most avant-garde effort, a harrowingly beautiful record with s! ome pyschadelica influences, made using mostly acoustic guitars; some noisy overdubbing; scratchy, fuzzy, lo-fi production; and howling off-key stream-of-consciousness lyrics. Created by Frusciante to create "interesting music", as he felt it no longer existed. The record can be split into two albums: Niandra LaDes is a tad more conventional structurally and was recorded during weekends at the same time as Blood Sex Sugar Magik in 1991.
